Which is better? The PsP or the nintendo DS?
Im thinking about getting one. Which is worth getting?

I own both and like both of them. Guess it all depends what you expect from the console. I lean more towards my PSP because it has more capabilities. It takes an MS Pro Duo card so if you got the software you can put all types of media on it. Nintendo I think came out with a card for the DS allowing you to go online. So it seems that the value of the DS is going up. Again, I think it all depends on the games you wanna play and the functions you want out of the console. Hope this helps:)

The Nintendo DS has way more better games that have been released already than the PSP. Sony needs to create games that arent ports from its already existing library. Maybe a Final Fantasy game that is exclusive to PSP would help sell their console.

This is an age-old debate. It is quite simple when deciding which console to get, as long as you consider your own preferences.

The PSP is a handheld console designed for the casual gamer. It is capable of playing music, video, storing files and browsing the internet. It can play games, but mainly ports from the PS2. It is designed to have fun with, not to play games with. Games are a part of that fun.

The NDS is a handheld console designed for two main markets. The gamer market, and the family market. This is apparent in the kinds of games Nintendo releases for the DS. There are games like Metroid Prime: Hunters, a fast-paces FPS that requires some skill to get good at and allows you to compete against other players online, and there are games like Brain Training, which is designed to compare different ages' brain powers and is supposed to be a fun activity for the whole family.

Another feature about the DS which supports this idea is the control system in comparison to the PSP. The PSP uses a control system best able to mimic that of the PS2. This isn't a bad thing, as it augments the compatibility of the PSP to its games. The DS uses two screens. One, a touch screen. This allows it to be innovative, allowing gamers to experience something different, and families to experience something interesting.

One final difference in the two consoles is the price-tag. The DS is available for $150 AUS if you look around, whereas the PSP costs around $350 AUS. This is reasonable, considering the more advanced features of the PSP, but if you don't think you would use all of its capabilities, then perhaps the PSP is not for you, especially if price is a concern.

In summary, if you are deciding which handheld console to buy, you should consider these features:

Price:
DS: ~$150
PSP: ~$350

Games:
DS: Gamer/Family (often unique to DS)
PSP: Casual/Entertaining (Usually ports from PS2)

Capabilities:
DS: Touch Screen, Wireless internet (with internet cartridge), Dual Screens, DS and GBA cartridge space.
PSP: Memory cards, Internet capabilities, movie capabilities, music/file storage/access.

Overall:
DS: A more of a gaming console, limited features, but better games and control system.
PSP: More of a "fun"/"cool" console. Many more features and capabilities, but limited game and control quality.

Oh...forgot to mention. I myself have a DS, but only because I won it. If I had the choice of which to buy, even though I am a gamer, I would buy a PSP. This is because I don't play games on handheld consoles much, and I would get more use out of the PSP's media functions.

Hope this helps! :)

Also you should take into account the performance of the two machines. The DS is nowhere near as powerful as the PSP and cant produce the kind of graphics the PSP can.. Ive owned a PSP since its release and the games on it look great. some of them are hard to tell apart from what a PS2 can do in fact. The DS while a more dedicated gaming tool just cant match up in that sense. :p

They both have their pros....
PSP has a better screen and images
NDS has touch screen

PSP games are more action typed and exciting
NDS games are more mild and entertaining

PSP has less colors
NDS....their color varies ( I love the pink and baby blue one, so pretty)

But overall, I would choose Psp...since I have one XD

I do own both.

But I do like the PSP - for the music and videos I can put on it. Also, I like the way if you're in the middle of a game - can't be bothered to save - just switch it off - and as long as the battery doesn't die whilst it's switched off the next time you switch it back on - you resume your game at whichever point you left it.

On the DS, however, you switch off the console mid-game - it doesn't work like that

and as for the Bleach games -
PSP : Bleach HtS 1-4
DS : Bleach DS

I prefer the ones on the PSP.

Its not related to video games, but the machines you play them on. Thus it comes under Computer technology. :p

DS V's PSP is like Wii V's PS3....

the sony products are clearly technologically better products... but the Nintendo ones are far more fun :D (now if only I could just get our Wii off my housemate and out of his room and back in to the lounge room.....)

It does, actually... ;)

Bleach: Blade of Fate

More on topic, I can't really judge as I only have a DS. All I can say is that whilst it may not have all the extras and features of a PSP the games are, from my knowledge, more varied and generally better. If you're content with becoming really good at a game then it's a great console, fantastic to just pick up and play a bit.(Contradictory to common knowledge, there are other games than the "family-orientated" ones. Good value, "hard" games; which is good. =D)

I sorta own both. My brother owns a DS, I own a PSP. On the PSP, the graphics rock. The DS's Graphics are good too, but not as great as the PSP's graphics. Click here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OqevxuHdiH0) for the video of DS vs PSP on YouTube. The PSP has way better games, like Bleach Heat the Soul 4. Go PSP!

I like the DS because I think its alot more User Friendly. Nintendo DS is alot easier to use then a PSP. I've had both and my PSP broke alot when my DS never broke. So I chose Nintendo DS.

The Ds is a way more durrable device because it rarely has technical issues unless you seriously neglect it.

but the Psp in my mind is much better. You get better quality games(graphic wise) and its extrafeatures arr better than the ds. I always use my psp to surf the web when i am out of town and it is geat for watching movies.

PSP is for more Advanced Gamers who are all into the Graphics and stuff. I mean if your looking for some classic games like Mario and N64 games the DS will definitely have them.

final fantasy tactics on the psp and final fantasy dissidia, and final fantasy crisis core. Three reasons why I chose the psp over the ds. This year there are some more fantastic titles coming out for psp, which will make it a worthy competitor to the DS.

Advanced Gamers? Sorry, but liking higher definition graphics doesn't make you advanced.

a crazy little feature of the psp thats been touted to increase the sale of psp and ps3 is the idea that you'll be able to transfer blu ray movies from your ps3, and convert them into a smaller format suitable for the psp legally and for free!!
