Cameras, Anyone?

Anyone up for some talks about Cameras? I personally love cameras but don't know much about them but I'd like to know more about them though, pretty interesting stuff... specially the SLRs'. :p

So yeah, go ahead and post anything that is Camera related if anyone wants to. :p

Well I like the Digital Cameras, (after voting I just noticed that it had been a multiple choice poll) though after taking a change and gambling with getting an old Nikon (I think it was) camera at a local thrift store discovered that I like to be able to take photos the old fashioned way :p, with manual focus. Though I certainly won't call myself a photographer. :D
But unfortunately as I said it was a gamble getting it for only $10, I soon discovered that after every other shot I took the camera kept jamming up. :(

yes i have a digital camera
its a Nikon camera and you can turn the lens to zoom in and it is
the same size of a normal camera make me wonder if it was
worth the price hehe:D

Knives-sama, I guess you can safely say it's with the Digital ones since there are still some sub categories to the Digital Cameras. :)

And Meg, I guess the age does matter sometimes! :p We have a 1960's - 70's Old SLR Camera here from my grand father. Not sure if it still works but I'm interested in making it work though.

I have a polaroid digital camera. its kinda basic with 3x zoom and 5.0 megapixel resolution, but i like it.

If I knew what I was doing I would have muddled around with it some more to see if I could fix it, but I didn't know what I was doing so I got rid of the camera when I had to move. I had that thing on my shelf for probably more then a year..maybe two years, I think that old camera may have been from the early 80's. Maybe someday I'll save up for another camera, but in the mean time I'll remain cameraless! :(

I'm not really a fan of digital cameras unless they have a great optical zoom, digital zoom is horrible for close ups.
However
I love the spontaneousness of a polaroid camera, the old ones.
I do admit to having a digital camera though... a panasonic DMC-TZ3 10x optical zoom that i bought just for my trip out west... its decent but I dont really like it..

I also have a digital SLR. It's a Nikon D70. I also have a regular point and shoot digital camera since it is really easy to carry around. And I have a film SLR. I really enjoy have different types of cameras because they give me more versatility. My favorite is the digital SLR.

Cool, I'm a Nikon user too! I use a D200 now, with a couple of lenses.

Nice, I was aiming for DSLR but I like the ways of the normal SLR... XD Might be buying one if I have the money. :p

Mika, I guess there goes the musicians arguement like... 'Analog is better than Digital? *Effects related' and the more infamous, 'Tube is better than Solid State Amps!' Lol!

Nikon, Canon or Sony for normal DigiCams? :p just wondering cause mom just bought a Sony Cybershot but somehow it got damaged before we even laid our hands on it so we sent it back. :(

My father gave it to me in my graduation.

I own a Canon D60 and 20D and looking to get a 40D or (budget permitting) a 1D MkIII sometime middle of next year.

Also own a canon PowerShot G9 point and shoot that replaced an old and dead PowerShot A80 which is good for every day as the SLR's are not light or pocketable
