Does anyone think the whole "Blu-Ray VS HD-DVD" format war is dumb? They should just stick with one format and just accept it. Opinions anyone?

I had a Ps3 and the Blu-ray drive died within having it 6 months, Luckly I had a 2 year replacement warrenty on it. About 2 months later I had software issues with and everything died. The Blu-ray drive in the PS3 isn't that great,HD Drives are by far better then Blu-ray. To top it off HD has more Dvd's out than Blu-ray format. I am not going back to blu-ray just for the fact that it has many problems since it is alittle newer than HD. I think in the long run since Microsoft uses HD with the Xbox systems it will be out for a longer period of time and be the main format out there, So I am gonna say that the format war sucks and that HD will come out on top.HD,the way to go.

I can't see how Blu-Ray can lose tbh...
Blu-Ray got a huge head start thanks to Sony forcing it on PS3:rolleyes:
Guess in the end it will depend on prices...
As it stands(In UK anyway)HD DVD seems a good few pounds cheaper than Blu-Ray so who knows who will win lol;)
Companies are always bickering over whose product should be the standard. I myself won't buy any specialized equipment until the war blows over. In my opinion though, Blu-ray will probably win. It holds a lot more than HD-DVD (since blue lasers have a smaller wavelength, you can store more info in a smaller space). That advantage alone should give it the upper hand.
