Since my good o'l ps2 doesn't want to play any ps1 games anymore *cry cry* :( , i wanted to connect my ps1 to my pc. and guess what? well it actually worked. i have these yellow-white-red (sorry, don't know what they're called) slots in my pc so i connected my ps1 cables to the pc. but the problem is, i don't know how i can see the game on my screen >< well i tried a few things and i could play it and saw the game when i used webcam in msn. i don't have a webcam but i could see the final fantasy title screen in stead of my face. and it was moving so not just a picture. didn't have sound and it was projected like in a mirror, but it worked. i also tried another program. i used roxio (some program to make DVD's with the correct lay-out and stuff like that :). it was pre-installed on my pc ) and when i use roxio, i import the data from the colored slots into the program. so i can see the game (correctly this time, with sound) and i can play it, and everything works fine. but it's just not fun playing on a small screen with lots of other things around it. i want to play it fullscreen. so does anyone know a program that allows me to play the game on fullscreen?
thank you in advance :)

Well you see the whole connection is dodgey because you connected the yellow-white-red(display cables) to the cpu itself it is being "like" projected through msn.
what you should do to fix that is connect them to your monitor direct but for that you'll need a special wire which even i have'nt come across. but i'll let you know if i do:).

well since everything actually works, the only thing i need is a program that allows me to play it fullscreen. even if it is not ment for playing consolegames with. i just need a program that shows the images from those cables. just like a DVD-making program, my only problem is, it wasn't fullscreen

Well have you tried using a dvd player like power dvd or nero.
There is a program that can maybe work it is video lan converter in short-VLC
my friends use it on some movies with different codecs than the one's WMP have so yeah why don't you try that.

Yeah thats all i could think of but i have a friend that I'm going to see in maybe a day or two so I'll ask him I'm sure he'll know if there is something you can do
otherwise i'll most probably tell you in two or three days but i will tell you what he says.

So in advance Merry Christmas to you and your family all the best!!:)!!

combine it with this

to direct conect your PS1 to the monitor

Or if maybe you want to use the one's that are built into your comp, maybe you should make sure that you Have either Windows Xp Media Center or Windows Vista Premium. I would recommend Xp Media Center though (much cheaper ^_^) I hope this helps.

Yeah i was about to say that why not get an adapter because it'll be very cheap as in ONLY the adapter or why not connect to the tv because thats the simplest way!!!

hmmm.... you could try using PS1 emulators.... I have tried one.. its called psxe.. its really easy to use.. and if you have a usb gamepad,,, you can set it to work just like a playstations gamepad... :mayuri:

My friend used to have one of those. But aren't they Illegal?

its legal to use emulators to play ps1 games, provided you actually have the game. The main problem is that it is technically illegal to download the ps1 bios (unless of course it is your own), but that hasn't stopped thousands of people from downloading the bios, which is easily available through searching for it on google.
The main pros of emulators (particularly ePSXe) is that provided you get the configuration correct you can play games in better resolution than their original format.

yes.... its leagal provided you use your own ps bios... so... make sure you have yours... and as far as configurations are concerned... I found some tips back then, I think there are sites with these kind of information,,but I'm not to sure if those websites are still online today.... :mayuri:

and do you actually believe that that would work? 0_o
there is something wrong with the reader of my ps2. don't think resetting multiple times would help. and i still have my old psx so if i really want to play a ps1 game i could use that one.

Try media player classic for the sound. It's free, just go file, open device. I've used that to get my ps2 working on a tv card that way with sound. Also, try adjusting individual options in the windows sound mixer. If you can figure out how to add that input to the mixer, and simply un-mute it, you'll have sound no problem!

Also, ePSXe does work very well for a lot of games. There are a few troublesome games like Metal Gear Solid that I still prefer my old PS1 or my PS2 for though.
