First, install xp.
You need 2 partitions on your drive.
Google search Acronis Disk Director Suite or Norton PartitionMagic.
Use either 1 of them to make a partition. You should atleast make the partition with 10GB free space, as Vista requires about 6-7GB.
Now you can install vista, when install vista MAKE SURE you install it onto the new partition that u made! And make sure that the type of the drive is LOGICAL.
Then proceed with the rest of the installation...
After you succesfully installed vista and xp, you can now choose which 1 to boot, when you start up the computer.

How about installing XP when Vista is already on the comp?
(Can't reinstall it, no disc, it came pre-installed >.<)

Well, if you use a partition manager to create a new partition, then you should be able to install XP onto this partition without disturbing Vista...hopefully.
I'm just guessing, since I re-installed Windows when I was putting Ubuntu onto my system...

Well 1stly you have to partition ur HD or if you have its better but i like partioning my HD so that i wont lose nothing when a partition got corrupted.. for partitioning you can use Win XP. just put it in the PC and choose boot by CD then press any key..then its jsut english. install xp on the 1st partition i.e. C:. when finishing installing Xp put in the Vista DVD (not the upgrade version) then install it in the other partition. then thats it.
when ur pc will start up it will shows:
Earlier vesion of windows
Windows Vista
you got 30 seconds to choose.
here u r man.....
