That's Vixta. A linux distro made to look like vista. There was another one a few years back ... Lindows, I think. They basically do this to help newbies in the hard transition from MS to linux.
I don't know which distro it was based from and what package manager it uses. Hope its based from debian.... hehe :mayuri:

yeah, Lindows --> now Linspire (commercial version) and Freespire (the free version), I've tried Xandros OS onced it worked great though it ain't free but live up to it, good for those who just one to get things done without worrying about configurations. :)
Vixta is based on Fedora Kernel and KDE. Actually, I saw an XP version before this. I do hope it's compatible with my hardware :D

Well, since its Linux, your hardware shouldn't have a problem. If in some way, you need drivers, you can always find some on the net. Vixta might have (or probably) have their own forums. You might want to ask there first.
BTW, I'm downloading it now... hehe... :mayuri:

hahaha.... you could try and install it onto a removable disk, most distros can do that... but that would require a lot of effort... It would be better to wait till morning and buy a blank cd...
or better yet .. try it first on vmware ... :D :mayuri:
