So I open up Photoshop CS3 Extended and boom no brushes, just the default brush set. Can anyone explain to me what happened? The whole thing looks as though I had just installed it on my computer. I saved some of the brushes on my computer but not all and i had so many it's going to be a pain getting them back. Any suggestions?

You might have accidentally restored the default brushes, or perhaps somehow the program itself has been reset. If the latter is the case, then all I can say is it's time to go brush hunting again. ><
If you still have the brushes saved to the computer, it shouldn't be too hard to reload them. (I have a chunky folder full of them. ^_^;;)

thats what i did, but i dint have all of them saved there, i had to download quite a bunch again.. but just wanted to know what happened so it wouldnt happen again

Well, all I can say is "Good luck brush hunting!" but remember to make a backup file of your brushes next time.

Like copy all of your brushes to a CD.

So far I have an archive full of every Brush and every font I use, as well as C4D renders and the Apophysis software (to create fractal renders => used in wallpapers as swirls) stocked in my memory card (just in case my comp crashes).

Now what i did was buy myself an external hard drive and i made a backup of the entire system with every file I had. I wont be loosing anything anymore. And I had already saved my fonts and renders and most of my brushes in a folder, but I was just mad because I had everything set the way I liked it and now I have to set it up again. I really dont know what could have happened.
