for my app downloads and other stuff i use freedownloadmanager (it doubles as an ftp browser, torrent downloader, and i think you can download whole websites, but i haven't tried it though) and for torrents i use utorrent (easiest for me to use so far, i haven't tried any other torrent downloader eversince)

I've used Lime Wire for ages, and now it is really starting to annoy me. I've used BitTorrent a few times, it was alright.
I need something else. Something that wouldn't totally kill my laptop in a week. Every two weeks I clear my laptop to factory defaults because my hard drive is dying.
Any suggestions?

make sure you have an AV program
avast is free and is made/maintained by computer geeks, which means is awesome
i have use almost 80% of the downloading programs out there and the only ones i stuck to are limewire, utorrent, newsbin
my ussage of each is:
limewire(for last resort and only songs)
utorrent (very last resort, anything)
newsbin(for everything)
but i also use the web (http) for easynews.com which is my main download source

I just want to quote my post, what i really like about this download manager is that it's coupled with a video conversion utility, it's especially useful when i download flv files when i want to share them with my friends who can't play the format and it has other nifty features so check it out people.... :hollowichigo:

uTorrent for Windows
Azureus for Linux
I only use torrents...Limewire is too bloody ineffective anymore... with torrents I can download an entire discography in the time it takes Limewire to download a CD...and with a 2Mbit pipeline with unlimited bandwidth usage and 2Tb woth of HDD space, why go one song at a time?
