Cars... which do you like...?

Alright, I don't have anything to do lately soo... I've decided to know everybody's tastes on cars... :)

I'm not a hypocrite here or anything but I just favour the more older cars... 60's to 70's types of cars are my personal taste or more commonly called 'Muslce Cars' but I don't limit it there... ;), I can still appreciate the more modern type of cars even if they are Imports/Tuners, Exotics and SUV's/Trucks... ;)

so here's my question, what car tastes do you have? :)

please add a few details like what Manufacturer, Year model, what type, what model of car on the manufacturers line and etc etcs...

I voted other, because my fave car is the VW Vanagon. My dream vehicle is a fully restored, Westfalia camper with a Porsche engine and heavy duty 5 speed transmission to make it over the grades pulling a trailer at 55 mph.

I build it because it already made for tuned, like it's name its Tuners Choice's. I'd spent 3 years long for the Mazda, it swapped with wankle rotary engine, 3rd generation. And the others took about 1.5 years I guess, it just finished 3 or 4 months ago. I love build basically :-D

I voted for Imports/Tuners (IE Mitsubishi, Mazda, Honda, Toyota and etc...) -

I think Hondas and Toyotas are very dependable and last longer. :) Plus they are very nice quality cars.

My dream car is a 1981 Excalibur though.

Not big on cars, they get me from A to B, currently have a large Mitsubishi 4WD (SUV to you state siders) but as I'm now pretty much city bound these days I'll probably replace that with a Honda Jazz (Fit in Japan and US) when the new 2008 model hits our shores next year (hopefully they'll release the long wheelbase Jazz/Fit wagon outside of Japan but would be just as happy with the smaller hatch).

Much more in to motorbikes (though currently I'm bikeless) been through a number of sports bikes (Suzi GSX-R, various Honda CBR's, Yamaha TRX), trail bikes (Honda XR 400, several Suzuki DR's) and standards (BMW airhead R80, Kwaka Zepher 750, Honda CB 750)

My next bike will probably be one of the new Triumph Tigers, the BMW R1200 GS or the BMW F800 ST

I have it, it's my uncle's ae86 toyota carolla gt apex (anybody who says that I liked it only because of initial d shall invoke the wrath of god) mods: fully adjustable suspension, rear wheel drive, a decent stereo, limited slip differential (yes... it didn't come with one >.<) nice tires,which won't last long lolol.

well the reason I like it is because I grew up with one as the family driver, and because you have to keep your foot to the floor at all times to get it to do what you want... i don't know why, that feeling of pedal to the metal is a great one. I hate initial d for ruining the 86... seriously, they portrayed it to be the perfect drift car... well quite frankly it's not... it doesn't have power, it doesn't even come with an lsd stock, the only redeeming factor is that it's got the fr layout. Ultimately it's a learner's car, it takes nothing but raw talent to get those things sideways, you need to learn the basics with a low power car. I can drift easier in a newer more powerful rear wheel drive car. I'd like to get into the local racing scene at my hometown, but... they do nothing but drag race... even then they are not racing. they're ricing, with the biggest loveboat wing, and coffe can muffler on a honda civic (the most popular car, and setup where I live.)

I personally like BMW's , but Muscle cars are cool as well. I would choose a 69 Camero SS with a 503 big block. Along with an Air bag Suspension and Nos. For the Bmw I would put a turbo charger init, a new engine with 450 horse power. With the supercharger it would be between 480 to 490 horses.It would have Nos, a nice leaf spring suspension and a wicked cumston cut body kit.

sorry to say but you can't buy a Ferrari Enzo because Ferrari only sent that car to close friends of the owner of the company (whose name IS Enzo Ferrari, really) so they were never technically for sale :p

That's not entirely true. They did send about 150 or 200 Ferrari Enzo to the most valuable clients of theire company, but they made about 2000 Enzo cars, but they all belong to private persons already. You can easely find about 20 Enzo on sale and if you look harder i'm sure you can find more, but they are way to expensive, the original price was arround 1 milion $, now the ones who bough it sell it at price from 1,2 milion $ to 1,6 or sometimes even 1,7 milion $. Anyway it's way to expensive for most of us mortals :D, it's just a beautiful dream. If had soo much money to spend (waste) on a car, why would i bother to buy a simple Enzo when i could buy a Bugatti Veyron (fastest car on earth that is for sale and legal to use on streets), or i can add about 300 thousand $ to the 1,7 milion $ and ask Ferrari to make a unique car for me.

I'm a pretty big car buff abd I know there are several of you out there, even people who aren't really into cars, there has always been that car you've always wished you could get your hands on, in my case they are several cars, so what is that car? For me those cars have been:

1. Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution- Thanks to Gran Turismo, many people have fallen in love with that car, that's how I was introduced to it. I like the older model better than the newest model though.
2. 1969 Chevy Camaro Super Sport- Nothing beats a classic American muscle car. It would be blue with white racing stripes. I would have a 454 Chevy big block under the hood, 20'' chrome wheels and a set of those tires that spew color smoke when you burn out.
3. BMW M3- The new model looks amazing, and with a 400-hp V8 that only sweetens the deal.

lexus, nice :D. my borther works for them. he hired out some RX 350's for my mum's birthday. they are sweet :D. its hard for me to choose. my mum just bought a BMW 1 series, my dad is geting the Toyota Aurion top model. i on the other hand own a mitsubishi mirage. great car, fuel efficient.

but if i had to pick, my all time favourite car would be the Porsche Carrera. its jsut so sexy and has unique lines compared to any other car. that and theyre rear wheel drive. and fast, dont forget fast. so one for exotic i guess.

my friend though is doing up a 69' stang. thats also a VERY nice car.

My dad has four classic cars, I would love to have any of them, but he says I've gotta buy one from him, that really sucks. He has a 1947 Chevy Fleetmaster, 1947 Chevy Fleetline, another Fleetline, but this one is a 1945, the difference between those two cars is that the Fleetmaster is a bit longer than the Fleetline, and finally a 1943 Buick two-door. He also had a 1943 Mercury with suicide doors, but he sold it to our neighbor. I wish I ahd some pictures I could post. My dad painted the Fleetmaster orange, one Fleetline yellow and the other red, he hasn't gotten around to painting the Buick. I wish I had some pictures I could show.

If I had a choice of anything, I'd go with a Ferrari F350, beautiful car coupled with outstanding performance. I love exotic cars such as the Porsche Carrera GT and the Ferrari Enzo (And of course the McLaren F1 GT) they are all extremely beautiful cars and they have incredible design and handling capabilities, but I'd be way too tempted to bring them up to speed, heh.

Muscle cars are also very attracting since they also perform extremely well without the extreme costs of exotic cars, specifically the Vette. A red Vette would be my most desired car if it weren't for the sheer flashyness of the car. A dodge viper would be very nice to have too, but then again considering the reliability of muscle cars it wouldn't be a very long investment.

It's totally safe, I mean its a roll-cage on wheels...From what I've heard it handles like no other car, its also probably one of the easiest cars to drift in too!

It's a 3in exhaust. Pretty standard for Supras and most other turbo cars in general. :)

For a Supra, 400 isn't a ton of power. But it's definately a lot relative to what most people drive.

The turbos are capable of around 600 but that would take a lot more expensive parts and money I don't have or want to spend. And with that kind of power, you need sticky expensive tires too. It doesn't matter how much power you have if you can't put it to the ground. ;)

It's making around 350 untuned currently and before I installed the upgraded turbos, it was making 300 with stock turbos.

400 is enough for this car since it's my daily driver and the only car I have.

It definately moves well with 350. No doubt about that. It's addictive though. Once you get a feel for power, you keep wanting more. Upgrade, make more power, get used to it, upgrade, make more power, get used to it. It's a vicious cycle of money and stubbornness to know when to quit. :D At some point it stops being fun because the car can become a real chore to drive with an extreme amount of power and I don't really want that to happen. So I'm going to keep it at "low" power levels like 500 at the very most.

Most all of the work has been done by me since I bought the car. I used to have another Supra before this one and I didn't know as much then and needed a lot more help from friends. But I know a lot more now. I sold that car last december and bought this one on Xmas day. I always wanted a black one and it's the last year of this model. Only about 1200 were made in 92. I couldn't pass it up.

Anyway, I'm gonna watch ep 153 now. I just finished my download from the new direct download section. :)

I think that picture of the Supra is a concept, but I don't think much is going to change when the production model comes out. But supposedly that thing is going to cost over $100,000 USD. I don't know if Toyota has the brand name to be able to sell a car at that price range. This car is supposed to compete with the Porsche 911 Turbo, I doubt the Supra can compete at that level.

I went to a Car Show and saw the extreme of exotics. It was wild and crazy. Lambos, Ferraris, Vipers, Porshe, you name it. I wish I had the money to test drive it....'cause it only cost about $500+ depending which one you choose.

Cars like Ferarris, Lambos, Porsche etc., don't conform themselves to
the same old looks, colors, and capabilities of the cars we're used to seeing everyday. They break free from this, and come up with something totally new and innovative.
Of course, Muscle cars, SUVs, and the like, are actually pretty cool too.
All I'm saying is, Exotic cars have the most sleek and stylish designs among the automotive industry today.
As for a specific car brand, Lamborghini is number one in my book! :)

I've been in love with the Dodge Charger since the first time I rode in one. It was awesome.

My dream car. . . . A 2007 lime green Dodge Charger R/T Daytona. Best car ever.

I just like the lime green because it sticks out. But the rusty/metallic orange would just as good. I had a chance to drive one last year and I must say. . . Amazing. That car could easily top 140mph. I would have loved to do that.

Well not just the price, it's a gas guzzling monster! With a 16 liter engine you'll be running out of gas in no time even from full tank.

I go for the eco-friendly cars like the current fastest electric sports car, Tesla roadster. It goes from 0-60 in just 4 seconds and it can go for 250 miles in a single charge (4 1/2 hrs to fully charge.) and finally, zero emissions! Only setback is that it costs $100,000 and it's stores are only currently open to American and European citizens.

Another liking that I have is within the race cars, which you also forgot to include in the poll. If you're thinking NASCAR, no not that type. It's the Le mans and Formula 1 that I really like. These types of cars are not really road legal but they're the ones that could go fastest around the race circuits and are the ones that could easily break from a single crash.

Imports and tuners are the way to go. Awesome look, handling and good on gas. All of Toyota's(includes scions cause they own them) and Mazda's tuners for 08 are awesome. I would also love to have a Mini Cooper, they are one of the best cars made.

The new Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 looks incredible!!
I have never seen 638 HP being pumped out of a production Chevrolet engine!!
That LS9 small block V8 must be amazing.
I already thought the LS7 V8 was amazing, but this is a big deal.
Chevy must have a lot of confidence in the Corvette to build a completely brand new engine just for this car.
If you thought the Corvette Z06 was amazing, the ZR1 blows it outta the water.
Now Chevy can finally take on those Euro sports cars. Ferrari and Lambourghini are gonna have to watch their backs.

Good taste i'm looking at upgrading i've currently got a 1991 Skyline gts-t it's got a few mods but it's still not enough power.

Personaly, my favorites are all these cars you gave for example but if i had to choose one i'd choose General Lee its new version of course (General lee is the dodge charger that appears on Dukes series) and my alternative would be chevrolet camaro.

Sadly no, as it would cover more than just 20 of the polls spaces... (IE, what type of tuner? Toyota? what type of toyota, an MR2? Supra?) soo I thought it would rather be bold and simple with those choices up there and let the voters (and posters) to state (IF they want to) their car that they *have* either owned, pre-owned, or brand new.

Well to make it simple enough... I left that part out to you guys... the posters and voters to state it yourselves and as for me, I don't have my own car yet but I am 'eye-ing' out for something around the model year... 70's - early 90's :p

I'm not much of a car person...so it was kind of hard to vote. I like the fast cars like the Stealth, Viper, Ferrari...but they are too fast for me. I'm not a Import person as seeing my brother is a mechanic and prefers to work on American made cars. So, my take is anything Dodge, Ford and Chevy. I would like to get a pickup truck eventually...but I have to wait to get money for that.

Yeah the 370 Z looks nice, and it produces an impressive amount of power from just a naturally aspirated 3.7 V6 engine too ;)

I voted on this poll ages ago for tuners, But after recently drivg a BMW 135i turbo. I've softened my stance I was always a hardcore tuner fan having owned nothing but modded tuners(Mainly Nissan's)

I always looked down on luxury/euro cars because they weren't as fast as say a modded skyline. After some consideration though they are more comfortable and practical, Also if you get the right car their quite quick too.

If I were to vote now, I'm not so sure there's a clear favourite... No suprise exotics are leading the way on the poll.

@NXTNL9: I have to say... after driving my dad's Mercedes SL550 roadster, the Mercedes, even though not as fast as a modded import, had superior handling, and had more bells and whistles on the inside, plus just better craftsmanship... I love my Infiniti G37S though, definitely more of a "kids" car. its super fun! And I'm sure something like a Mercedes SL 65 AMG, or an M6 could even take a Skyline or Nissan GT-R(are they the same car btw, or are there differences?)

Very good points, I know it's not fair but the thing here is the odds of seeing a modded exotic/euro compared to a modded tuner is very minimal. You can't really beat what's not around.

Some cars are obviously quick AMG merc's, BMW M'. The one's that impress me are when I get caught out by a car I should really beat i've been taken down a couple of times by small Honda Civic's, Despite driving a fairly modded skyline.

Good shout with the Startos/Integrale crazily rare though, Would be a classy car to own. A sleeper 206/307? that'd be different don't think i've ever run into a modded Peugeot, You'd catch alot of people off guard in that.

Dude that is awesome modded M3's? where you live? that sounds awesome. Here it's mainly WRX's/Evo's that are modded and everywhere it's annoying because their so so quick.

Yeah I know the B18 engine is really strong, Factor that with their ultra-lightweight and you've got a tidy little package there, The B18C into EG civic's are hella popular here.

Mmm yeah that's fair enough, If I got a M3 i'd go crazy modding it. Their so rare here so when you do see one it's guranteed to be dead stock, So no one would expect a modded one.
