[RP] The High Seas: Privateers

Did you ever dreamt of Role Playing on a 17c to 18c Europe? Firing Muskets and cannons from ships? well now you don't have to dream because this RP is based on the 17c to 18c with the sailing ships. XD

Setting: 17c to 18 Europe themed while the names and other things came from my head.

Plot:
The vast world of Maleialis, Rich and abundant in water-wildlife. The people is mostly concentrated on port towns scattered all over but they are rather friendly and are hospitable.

Almost all transportation relies on the Sea of Malien as what the locals call it, Where the vast Empire of Nikasa rules most of the sea lane trade routes and guards it with their Imperial Fleet while the small Kingdom of Justavia only manages to hold a quarter portion of the Malien Sea for trades and commerce with the protection of their Royal Navy and some Privateers.

Both Justavia and Nikasa have never had problems on the seas other than battling each other, small skirmishes were held on the past but as of now there are none.

Though the thought of danger at sea was not realized and was forgotten until one day...

Ships began to dissappear unusualy, the unexplained phenomenon was further strenghtened when the King Justavia sent an investigative team on the far out open sea of Malien. Thinking that it was something the Nikasa would do, His majesty's investigative team compromised of six third-rate ships-of-the-line so that when they are comfronted with the Nakasa's Battleships they could atleast fight back.

Neither of the six Ships ever returned to Justavian lands. The King, now angered by what had happend. Sent an envoy to the Lord of Erchi, asking to have him investigate what is happening on the Malien Sea to which the the Lord of Erchi responded by employing three Privateers to go there and investigate what was happening.

Erchi, The small port town near the southern tip of the Country of Justavia. This is our first setting on the RP. ^^

Technical Rules *READ ME*: (Game In-depth Playing and Technical Information)

1. Ship Cannons are always fired on Salvo's or Volley's, and the reload time takes 3 pages from the starting post it fired. *Applies for the Captain of the Ship*
3. Allowed weapons are as follows:
A. Flint-Lock Muskets (with Bayonet)
B. Flint-Lock Pistols (dual wielding is allowed)
C. And the all-to-familiar Saber for melee combat.
2. Choose only either to wield a Pistol (dual or singular) or a Musket with the Bayonet. The Saber is Mandatory, all sailors have them.
4. Muskets and Pistols takes appoximately 1 page to reload from the first post you've fired the weapon. Dual wielded pistols will have more reload time of approximately 1 page and a half and also a bigger percentage to be inaccurate compared to a single wielded pistol and musket.
5. Cannons, Muskets and Pistols are relatively inaccurate. Don't assume that if you've fired your weapon that it will be a sure hit.
6. Muskets can be used for melee combat, As self-explained by the use of Bayonets.
7. Three different classes/types of ship in the RP.
A. The Antelope.
A Fourth-Rate 'Super-Frigate' with 50 Guns on a single Deck, Quite mobile and considered to be above average than normal Frigates. The Above Standard fighting Ship of the group.
B. The Heffaistion.
The biggest of the group. The only Two-decker Third-rate Ship-of-the-line on the whole of Justavia in the hands of a Privateer, with her 76 Guns she can literaly obliterate other ships but her speed suffers just a bit due to the amount of Guns onboard. Considered as The Heaviest Ship on the hands of a Privateer and the Flagship of the group, Massive Firepower is its key feature.
c. The Skowe.
The Most mobile of the three. A Fifth-rate Frigate with 36 Guns onboard, she can outmanouvere bigger ships but her firepower lacks a large punch. She is considered as the 'Scout' of the group.

Waking up from an Inn on Erchi, he took a sitting position while thinking of something to eat for the morning.

'Seems like I've been missing out on my ship... I'm missin' the rockin' waters!!'
He thought as he got up and went downstairs of the Inn and onto a world of noisy and busy Tavern. All sorts of folks gather around chatting and drinking.
He didn't bother to order anything though.

The young Inn keeper then asked him.
"Sire, where's the payment for the rent? the owner might get mad at me..."
The young lady said while looking worried. Archeo then replied back.
"don't worry, I'll get you that payment if I can raid some ships today."
he said while he starts to walk outside of the Inn and into the busy streets of Erchi.

'Now, how to inform my crewmen...'
He thought as he made his way towards the docks.

Also, please do NOT drift off course from the plot outline. I am not allowing pirates because there will be mayhem on everyone begging to be one while the goal of this RP is just not just to RP but to also see how everyone communicates with each other in a friendly way. That is why I didn't put any application forms for enemies.

And also, this RP is not yet active. We need 4 RP'ers to start it off or face the moderators consequences.

Background/Life Before: Renouned for his keen eyes, Max is regarded as one of the best scouts in Justavia. Max is kind towards his crew and is cosidered a very reasonable man. In combat though Max has been known to take on much more pwerfull classed ships, using his speed and manouverability to great effect.
Age: 23
Appearance: Max doesnt wear the conventional uniform, prefering sleeveless tops and loose fitting trousers. He has dark brown, shoulder length hair, has a medium build and stands at about 6 foot tall
Ship to be Assigned to: The Skowe - requesting Captains position.
Weapon: Duel Pistols

Name : HaZe3Q
Background/Life Before: He lived his life in solitude. Made his way through life by being an honoury thief. Has been evading the Royal Navy most of his life.
Age: 20
Appearance: Has a huge scar across his chest. Wears a normal brown coat and a snazzy pirate hat (Jack Sparrow's hat). Has dark brown eyes and semi long dark brown hair. He is also a tad fair. He is not that tall , he is 5 foot 6.
Ship to be Assigned to: Antelope as a first mate.
Weapons: Carries a Cutlass and a Multi-Barrel Pistol

actually, i just thought of something.. You know the reload time for the ships broadsides is one page..
Do the ships have any forward facing cannons? I imagine the Heffaistion would what with it being the flagship but what about my wee Scout ship?
Also, if it did would there be a minimum amount of time to bring the ship from a forward facing attack to a broadside attack position?

Good thoughts and question. It generaly depends on the Captain if you want to reposition the Cannons around your ship! *Captains' independent control.*

Stern = Rear End of the ship.
Portside/Port = Left side of the ship when facing the Bow *or Front.*
Starboard = Rght side of the ship when facing the Bow *or front.*

Official Start:

The busy Docksides of Erchi, as lively as the sea itself...
A Bell rings! a shout of a vendor on the streets and various noises awakes Archeo in his nice good sleep at the Inn.

'Oh jeez... does the people here never care for others who are still sleeping?!'
He said whispering to himself as he wakes up from bed and sits up. Archeo then proceeds to walk near the window to see the busy Port, lunging his eyes towards his ship The Antelope. He then sighs and heads downstairs, hoping to eat something for breakfast.

'I'm a bit hungry today, hmm... what may I eat for my breakfast?'
He thought as he heads downstairs and into the Tavern...

HaZe3Q was in the Tavern having his usuall breakfast and some rum.
He was reluctant on being drunk early in the morning.
He cant wait to be onboard the Antellope and see who his captain is.

Making his way into the Tavern he headed straight into the counter but stumbled upon someone...

"Oh, sorry about that mate!"
He said as he looked at the guy which apparently was eating his breakfast and drinking rum.

'I think I should be more careful when I walk around the streets!'
He thought as he approached the counter and ordered some bread and a rum for his morning meal...

"3 Breads and one bottle of Rum here!!"
Archeo shouted to the bartender which is busy with too much customers at the moment.

' I think this should be enough...'
He said whispering to himself.

Further down the docks people are sent running as a crate of supplies comes crashing down on the pavement.

"God Dammit Johnson!" Shouted Max "I thought i told you to make sure those ropes where secure?"

"Sorry Cap'n" Whimpers Johnson.

Max sighs "Well, at least no one was hurt, that's the main thing." Max looks up at his pride and joy the Skowe. "Its gonna be a long day." He thought to himself.

He looks over and sees a couple of crew members chatting casually. "Phillip, Diego, When you two have finished being intimate how bout you come help clear this mess up."

"Yes sir! Leave it to us sir!" they both shout.

Max rolls his eyes and sighs again. "I need a drink. Crew, i want the Skowe fully supplied and ready for sail as soon as you can ok. When your ready come find me at the Crows Nest Tavern."

"Eye eye sir!" they all shout.

After finishing his breakfast he went to the gun shop to get some rounds for his pistol.
Walking from left to right as he was drunk, he fell down along his way and to his amazement he found a money pouch.

"Owh yeaaah...my lucky day...."

Then he kept moving as he was late to be recognize by his captain.

Matake was just lounging on the dock while the rest of the crew members were preping the skowe

" hey Matake should'nt you be doing something said a crew mate "

" uhh no said matake " as he emptys his 3rd bottle of Rum

Max wonder into the tavern, looks down curiously at a man scurrying along the floor with a money pouch and then continues to the bar.

"Rum please Bar-keep." Requests Max.
"I here your setting sail today. going anywhere special?" Asks the bar-keep, trying to make small-talk.

Max smiles, then taps his nose. The bar-keep lifts his hands up and smiles back. "That kinda job huh? Fair nuff, I wont ask any more about it."

"Thank you." responds max. taking a sip from his rum. He turns round and faces the rest of the tavern, quickly noticing a familiar face sitting at the other side by the window. He walks up behind him.

"Heh, how come whenever i see you you've always got rum in your hand and bread in your mouth?" Max pats Archeo on the shoulder and sits next to him."

" Wow its so boring " said Matake

" well maybe you should do some bloody work then " said a crew member

" hm let me think about that .... no i'll be back im out of rum "

Matake gets up and leaves to go to tavern shaking money pouch

[Archeo]

"Heh, how come whenever i see you you've always got rum in your hand and bread in your mouth?" Max pats Archeo on the shoulder and sits next to him."
Munching with the bread on Archeo's mouth, he heard Max and feels him patting his shoulder. He then gave a quick wave of his hand... with the rum on it. He then finished munching his bread.

"Ahoy! Cap'n Max! Came to drink some rum?"
He asked as he looked at Max with a glaring smile on his lips, he then offered his bottle of rum to Max.

"Want some? I'm guessing here... you've already ordered... haha!"
He said as he put the bottle in the counter, nearly finishing on the bread and rum combination.

"Now... I think it's a coincidence that you're always seeing me with a rum and bread on the morning! haha!!"
he said as he laughed after which he gave a cold hearted look to Max.

"I think we may need to re-arm and supply ourselves for a few months on the sea..."
He said giving off a sigh in the process...

'Now, where's the Captain of the Heffaistion again?'
He thought as he was finishing up on his breakfast...

"Way ahead of you there. Ive got the boys loading the supplies on as we speak. As for ammo i spoke to the foundry the other day and the cannonballs should be arriving around about now as well."

Max turned around and looked across the tavern. "The Cap'n of the Heffaistion is here?"

[Archeo]

"That's clever thinkin' Max!! Though I didn't see or seen the Cap'n of The Heffaistion today..."
Archeo looks around trying to see where the Cap'n of The Heffaistion too is or is he/she even on the Tavern.

"Oh jeez... here we go again... another day of waiting... haha!"
He said to Max while he stands up and then walks a bit away from the bar.

"I need to get some Ammo's and stuff into the Antelope so I'd better get going now then... see you on the docks then!"
Archeo said, turning his back while he waved his right hand...

Max gave a wave as Archeo left the Tavern. Then looked with a smile as he realised Archeo forgot his bottle of rum.

"hehe, well, maybe i'll stay a little longer."

Max proceeds to pour himself another glass.

Name: Brian "Xabre" Tajo
Background/Life before: Brian grew up in the small town of Lindensburg. His family had lived there for generations. He is a lazy relaxed person but a focused determined one when his inner-self if triggered off. He is humble and respects anyone in authority. His swift and deadly skills in the art of sword fighting with a saber earned him his slightly infamous nickname, Xabre.
Age: 23
Appearance: Xabre wears a white shirt with a loose dark gray vest over it. Belts and pouches (that contains whoknowswhat) riddle his body. He wears baggy brown cargo pants which enough pockets to fill a beach in. He wears his saber on the left of his hip and holsters his two pistols on a sling. He stands are 180cm (5 feet, 11 inches) and has short spiky black hair all around, save for his fringe. His fringe is unspiked, parted to the right and comes down below his eyes. He has a distinctive scarlet-red streak through his fringe.

Which Weapon: Dual Wield flint-lock pistols, Reversed-edge Saber (with a dragon design on its cross-guard)

Erchi huh. Some town this is.

Xabre made his way through a small crowd of people trying to do their daily bargaining in the market. He picked up an apple, paid for it and made his way off to the ports.

I wonder what kind of job's they would have.

Citizens generally stayed away from him. His loosely hanging saber and his pistols created an aura of discomfort around him and that made it easy to move around. Pirates of all sorts could be seen trudging around, doing their daily looting and such. He passed the tavern, where a small group of drunken men were brawling over each other's mothers.

"You mother is so fat, that she can't.." one of them started. Before he could finish his sentence, he started laughing so insanely that his face turned from red to RED.

Xabre ignored their banter. He couldn't care less about what they were talking about, let alone laughing about. He spat in disgust and found himself at the dock.

Not big, not small.. but the ships are.. magnificent. Especially that one..

Xabre stared at the beautiful ship. It boasted around 40 or so cannon stations and although it was not as big as the one anchored a few blocks away or as sleek looking as the one next to it, Xabre saw excellence in this one. "The Antelope" emblazoned across the ship's hull, near the bow.

Xabre paced up to the docks and found himself in the middle of a hardworking beehive of sailors.

"I would like to speak to the captain of The Antelope!" shouted Xabre, loud enough for a deaf man to become deaf.

[Gotunks]

Name: Gotunks
Background/Life before: An notorious man for his skills with an cutlass and his daring crusades around the world. Now he just likes to drink booze and fire his massive firepower against the enemies.
Age: 29
Appearance: He wears an black and red bandana on his head but over his mouth and has his face covered up at all times. Hiding an mighty scar that he received during one of his crusades. He also has long black hair. Normal pirate gear.
Ship To be Assigned: The Heffaistion Captain
Which Weapon: Cutlass and pistol.

"Alright it's time to be moving out boys. Hic!"

As this was said he began to pilot his famed ship full of heavy power, then he holds his hand up. Obviously he had too much to drink as he stops them and looks around as if he's lost.

"Umm...Hic...do you know where the others are?"

[Archeo]

Exiting the Tavern, Archeo moved into the Streets of Erchi. Busy crowds of people hoarding everywhere and literally everything you would say would be inaudiable except for the quiet docks where the only thing you can hear is the few sailors on their doing their own business.

'Hmm... now where to go... first... Oh wait! there's... somebody on the Antelope...'
He then proceeded to move into the dockyards as soon as he saw this one man there who seems to be shouting. As Archeo proceeded to move into the dockyards he noticed the Heffaistion on a bit of a rumbling movements...

'Oh my... Gotunks seems to be drunk again and with that really massive firepower on his ship it would surely be well the end for anyone who dares to even insult him one bit...'
He thought as he made his way through the busy streets and into where the dockside is, seeing the one man earlier he approached him.

"Ahoy there mate! what would you want on this ship here?"
Archeo asked the man standing near the Antelope, patiently waiting for his response...

" another bottle of Rum!! " Matake yelled Drunkenly

" Hey Matake should'nt you be working " said a voice

" What i do is none of your buisness " said matake as he turned around to look into the face of his own captain

" Well well well Drinking again " said Matake's Captain

" Uh Captain I-I did'nt know you were here " Studdered Matake

" Well Maybe you should go Before i blow you another hole " Threatened Matake's Captain

" Y-Yes Captain " Said Matake as he ran off toward the direction of the Dock

"That was a bit cruel don't you think?" Asked the bar-keep.

Max smiled and shrugged his shoulders. "I treat my crew very well, but him, he need a kick up the arse every once and a while." Max takes a sip of the rum Matake left behind. "What example would i be setting if I let him get drunk while the others actually earned there pay."

"You gonna punish him? What ya gonna do?" Asked the bar-keep.

Max brings the glass up to his lips, stops and grins, "I'm sure I'll think of something."

" I Hate my Job " Matake said under his breath as he helped prepare the Skowe

" Well maybe you should earn your pay by working " Said a Crew member

" and maybe you should stop Flirting with Phillip and do some work Diego " said Matake

" Hm i do more work than you " Diego said

" Ya you work here and in the bed " Said Matake Sarcastically

" Shut up Already will you " Said Johnson

" ok lets go were finished " Said Matake

" Go where? " said Phillip

" The Tavern " Said Matake as he started walking with the rest of the crew

Max turns as he hears the familiar banter of his crew.

"I take it the ships ready to set sail?" enquired Max

"That she is, Cap'n" responded one crew member.

"And in good time as well." Smiled Max, "Well, seeing as we're still waiting for the Antelope to finish its preperations, how about we all have a drink for the road." Max slaps Matake on the back. "And seeing as Matake was so eager to order rum earlier, the drinks are on him."

The crew cheer with delight and Matake's face drops. Max wonders out of the Tavern and sees Archeo patiantly guiding his delivery of cannonballs into his hold. A bit further up he sees Gotunks' ship shakilly moving out of port.

"Heh, he's been drinking too much again."

[Xabre]

"Ah, Capitan.."

Xabre flicked his head to the right to move the hair that covered his eye.

"I was wondering if I could join your band of merry newbs aboard The Antelope?"

[Archeo]

"Haha! sure sure my lad! welcome aboard then! oh yes, we'll get ready to set sail... I just need to load in some of the supplies in..."
He replies to the Man standing before him, smiling.

"I nearly forgot mate! what name do you go by? I'm Archeo and as you already know the Captain of this ship here!"
He said as he was waiting for the man's answer...

[Xabre]

"I go by the name of Xabre. Well, its good to be aboard."

Xabre trudged up the ramps and boarded the vessel. His head swiveled from left to right as he inspected the boat.

Max wonders over to Archeo who was currently Chatting to a well armed man.

"We're ready to cast off when you are Archeo."

Max looks curiously at the other man. "New recruit huh, you gotta name stranger?" he asks.

[Archeo]

"Alright then, I just need to take on some of the supplies onboard and we're ready to set sail... I guess you could go ahead then..."
Archeo replied to Max in a loosely manner, He then walked towards the dockside area trying to find some other supplies that needs to be onboard the ship.

'Hmm... I think there's nothing that we've forgotten then...? oh well...'
He thought as he took a final look at the dockside, He then walked back to Max.

"I think all the supplies are onboard the ship now, we're ready to set sail..."
Archeo said to Max as he made his way into the Main Deck of the ship...

[Max_Sparta]

" Right you are Archeo." Max walks back to the Tavern and pokes his head in the door.

"Right boys, get your head out of the clouds and your hands off the girls, we're settin sail."

Max and his crew board the Skowe and prepare to set sail. Max walks to to the bow and shouts across to Archeo who at this point is standing on the main deck of the Antelope.

"Hey, does Gotunks even know where we're going? He slept through most of the briefing."

" Bloody hell i spent all my money " said Matake as he threw his money pouch over the side of the ship

" Oh stop whining " Said Diego

" Shut up and go to your bloody boyfriend " Said Matake as he started loading the cannons looking for something to do

[Archeo]

"I'm not pretty sure about that Max! just look at his ship!! haha! but I guess he'll just have to follow us then..."
He shouted back at Max and then proceeded to walk through the main deck and into the stern of the ship...

"Alright mates! All Hands on deck!! we're setting sail!"
Archeo shouted towards all the crewmen....

'Oh man... I hope Gotunks EVEN follow us...'

Hearing Archeos call Max turns to his crew and gives the same order.

"Come on boys, we need to catch up with Gotunks. We're suppose to be a scout ship so lets take the lead and do just that. Diago, you take the crows nest first. Matake, take the helm, and this time try not to beach us. Once we clear the docks take a heading of 042 degrees."

[Archeo]

Walking up the Port side of the ship, Archeo positioned himself for some shouting.

"Release the ropes from the docks then board the ship, we're ready to sail out of port!"
He shouted as he sighed and looked around to see if there was anyone left behind...

'Come on, Come on... if there is anyone left it would be unsensible...'

[matake murasame]

" Its not my fault that we got beached Diego was the one who did it " said Matake

" Shut up Matake the captain does'nt need to know " Yelled Diego from the crows nest

[Archeo]

'Hmm... seems like no one is left behind...'
He thought as he turned around to see what the crew are doing...

'Now... where are we... oh yeah...'
He whispered as he walked in the center of the ship near the Main Mast...

"I need all of your attention men!!"
Archeo shouted to all of his crewmen, even on the Top Masts...

'I hope this goes well...'

[Xabre]

Xabre looked to the top of the Masts as he heard a bold and striking voice that seemed somewhat familiar to his ears.
There, his captain stood.

A crowd of sailors gathered near and look up, awaiting his speech.

[Archeo]

'looks like I got all of their attention... well that is good...'
Archeo thought as he walked from end-to-end of the top mast. He then looked down on his crewmen, observing if there are others who are still working.

"As you all know we're sailing off to the open seas and it gets pretty rough out there considering the ocean at this time of the year, I want you all to be alert at all times! -" He shouted as he spun to his left side but still holding on and looking down at his men. "- We don't know what we might encounter out there! so, load up your guns! we don't want to get caught unprepared out there... -" he said as he prepared to go down from the top mast and after a few jumps from rope to rope he eventually reached the aft *or back* portion of the ship. Just as he touched the wooden floor of the ship he walked, facing the center of the ship foward, he said. "- I am appointing that man right there as Lieutenant of the ship -" pointing his index finger at Xabre, and he continued. "- and I, will be bringing down my rank from Captain to Vice-Captain... There is someone else onboard the ship to which deserves it better..." He said seemingly unprepared, he walked down to the main deck yet again and approached the man. 'Xabre...'

"I think you have something to say to the crewmen?"
Archeo said and at the same time asked Xabre...

'Man... where is SHE when you need her the most...'
He thought as he looked around back and forth from the aft part of the ship to the fore *or front*...

[Max_Sparta]

Finally overtaking the Heffaistion, Max examines his compus and checks his bearings. He looks up at Diego,

"How we doin?" shouts Max.

"Nothin out of the ordinary from up ere Cap'n." He responds.

Max calls together the crewmen working on the deck.

"Right boys, while we're still in safe waters i want all the cannons armed and positioned." He announced.

"You thinkin of changing the layout?" Asks a crewman.

"Eye, I am lad. We got caught out last time we skirmished because we didn't mount any cannons on the bow or stern. We're not the biggest ship in the water so i don't wanna have to exchange broadsides with anything if i can avoid it. I'd much rather keep the ship swinging around from front to back and be able to attack from any angle. Our speed is our best asset so we should use it."

"What you got in mind?"

"I want to reduce the amount of broadsides to 15 each. That'll free up 6 cannons. 4 to mount on the bow and 2 to mount on the stern."

Max looks around the crew as they mutter amongst themselves.

"Well come on, lets get too it. We'll be leaving safe waters soon and i don't want some scummy pirate catchin us with our kegs down."

"Eye-eye sir!" They all shout.

[Xabre]

"Me? Uhh"

Xabre was half stunned from his sudden promotion and headed up to higher standing.

"Ahoy Mateys! I am your new Lieutenant! Listen up buckos cuz you aint gonna slack on my watch! Polish the cannons! Load the supplies! Pull up that anchor! Set lost the sails for we are going to depart to..."
His enthusiastic and booming speech faded as it awaited his superior's answer.

[Archeo]

"To our glory!"
He shouted, continuing what Xabre said and was followed by shouting by the crewmen of the ship as if they are all rejoicing something. Archeo then looked far out in the front and sees the Skowe moving in to take the lead of the pack. He then looked to the masts and almost all of them haven't been deployed or opened as of yet.

"Set sail as said by your Lieutenant! Deploy all masts to full and follow the Skowe!"
Archeo shouted towards the crewmen as he looked at Xabre and proceeded to walk towards the officers quarters. He then glared his sights on the Heffaistion to which by now, is near them.

'I hope Gotunks follows us Max...'
He thought as he continued to walk but not to the officers quarters but at the aft deck, he then turned around looking forward halfway on the stairs and then looked at Xabre.

"Please oversee their work as I attend to our navigator here to see if we are right on course or not..."
He said and turned around towards the aft deck...

[Gotunks]

Little did Archeo knew cannons were being fired off into the sea. Gotunks was at the front of his ship with an look of determination. He and his crew begins to follow Archeo and the others to their destinations.

"Hey make sure you fools don't drink me booze. Oh bugger. Quit firing the cannons."

As one of the cannons were really close to the ship of Archeo's.

" Captain where are we going anyway " Matake Said

" Were going to your mothers house " Said Diego

" Shut up Diego " Matake Yelled as he threw a Rum bottle at Diego

" Captain Matake Just threw a Rum bottle at me " Yelled diego

" Oh shut up you pansy and look at the Horizon " Yelled Matake

[Max_Sparta]

"If you to dont pack it in i'll have you both mounted on the front of the ship."

Max unravels a map and points to a spot on it.

"This is where we're headed. It's an area of water in between the borders. considereing the size of the area there isnt much there, just a few small islands and a lot of rough waters. We have to find out whats been happening to all the ships that go near there before people start pointing fingers and another war kicks off."

Max looks up at Diago,

"Keep your eyes peeled lad, we're leaving safe waters soon."

[Xabre]

"Aye Aye Capt'n!" replied Xabre.

He paced the deck and started his duties; making sure there was no slacking from the crew, making sure the cannons were battle-fit and cleaned, checking to see if all supplies had been accounted for.

One deckhand was cleaning one section of the barricades of the ship. He was slow and unenthusiastic about it and Xabre spotted it immediately.
"You there, cleaning the rail!!" yelled Xabre.
The man instantly turned around to see the lieutenant with a drawn and loaded pistol.
"If you want to live, then I'd suggest you buck up. If not, then say the word and I will squeeze this shiny little trigger 'ere."

The man's eyes almost popped out of it's sockets and he went back to work and cleaned it with much more enthusiasm than he had before.

Geez.

After a day at sea everything seemed calm. The crew were relaxing under the hot sun and for back-chatting the captain, Matake was forced to sit in the un-shaded crows nest.

Max decides to climb up and see how he's doing.

"Have you learned a valuable lesson Matake?" Smiles Max

"Yeah, Suppose" He grumbles.

Max looks over Matake's shoulder when he notices something in the distance.

"Is that a ship?"

Max looks down at Diego at the helm.

"Are we anywhere near the shipping lanes?" Shouts Max

Diego checks the map and there bearings. "No Cap'n. No where near."

Max pulls his telescope out and looks towards the ship in the distance.

"Cant make out the owner. But its a 2 decker and its heading this way so we'd better warn the others."

Max clambers down from the nest and races to the aft of the ship, grabbing the lamp on the way. When he gets there he starts signalling the other vessels of the unknown ship.

As implied by them, please abide by the said rules on the RP. Change the name to a simplier form like (IE Rangiku, or whatever you like.), Plus the Revolvers and Bow part is somewhat rather... underivative of the 17c/18c Europe. I would suggest to change that to a Flint-Lock Pistol because Revolvers didn't came into the world until about 1850's I think and as Bow and Arrows are now obsolete.

Also, please state which ship you want to be assigned to because I am not allowing pirates.

Glaring the signal Max sent to the ships, Archeo runs into the fore deck as quickly as he can and notices the light of the lamp sent by Max. He then faced the crewmen and Xabre.

"Prepare the guns! pull the Mizzen (aft) Mast and Fore Mast up! leave the Main mast open and prepare for engagement!"
He shouted as some of the crewmen started to run, scrambling through the deck of the ship, some preparing and cleaning the guns while the others are doing the mast works.

Archeo then looks into the direction of the unidentified ship and focuses his sights on it's broadside capability. He then notices that it was a two-decker and possibly one of Nikasa's Imperial Navy ships on it's guard duty.

"Send the signal to the Heffaistion to prepare for engagement!"
Archeo shouted as he looked into his crewmen while one of them ran onto the aft side of the ship and lighted a lamp to signal the Heffaistion.

'Man, I hope this is not what I think this is...'

Being a distance in front, Max knows he will end up being the first be engaged if the ship attacks.

"Please let this be an envoy ship or something." Muttered Max,

"I don't wanna be patching up holes in my ship after just a day at sea."

As the ship drew closer Max was able to finally see the flag she bore.

"Nikasa Imperial battlecruiser huh. This could get interesting."

Max asks a crewman to signal the ship, asking its intent, while max looked on through his scope.

"Ready the forward cannons boys and get ready to turn hard to port, i want the broadside on them as quick as possible if they become hostile."

Max waits a few seconds.

"Come on, respond god dammit."

[matake murasame]

" They don't look like they're playing around Captain They're loading the Cannons!!! " Matake yelled as he looks through a Spyglass

" They're firing a full broadside salvo at us!!!! " Yells Matake

Cannonballs wizz past ths ship and plunge int the water around it, some only meters away.

"Perpare Forward cannons!" Screams Max.

"Come on, come on. gotta take advantage of the reload time.

The Skowe closes to within 300 metres.

"Fire!" The four forward cannons let loose with a bang. three just miss but one catches the top deck, taking a few crewmen with it.

"Hard to port!" Shouts Max " I want a full broadside before they can train there guns on us again."

" Oh no you don't " Said Matake Aiming his musket at a enemy sailor loading a cannon and firing killing the crewman

" Hey Matake nice shot!! " Yells Diego while loading a cannon

" Diego Watch out!!! " Yells Matake as a musket bullet strikes Diego in the stomach

No a Nikasa Imperial Cruiser (The other kingdom) has Intercepted and attacked my ship without reason. Ive engaged but am outmatched so am trying to hold them off untill the rest of you catch up.

Xabre stomped through a crowd of hustling sailors, getting ready for the skirmish.

I wonder who they are up to. To send a flare would mean an emergency... It was after all The Skowe, who's offensive capability came nowhere near the Heffaistion, let alone The Antelope.

"Get movin' ya scumbags!" shouted Xabre. He had one pistol loaded and ready for shooting any crew that slacked.

Idiots. They move slower than my legless grandmother.

Xabre kept his pistol back in it's holster. He walked up to the prow where a sailor with a musket stood as if he was from the royal guard.
"Who do you think YOU are boy!!?"
The sailor made no reply. No eye contact even.
Xabre's eyes furrowed.

Oh yea..??

The pissed off sailor executed a strong sidekick which sent the sailor overboard, his musket dropping to the deck.

Geez. Ooo.. Musket!

Xabre picket up the musket and loaded it up well.

This might come in handy.

[Gotunks]

gotunks has his ship headed towards max's position. Once figuring out who the enemy was he fires an cannon trying to hit the enemy ship's bow. Leaving it to sink like stones.

[Archeo]

Seeing the Heffaistion fire off it's cannons from the distance, the balls wizz and spills on the water near the enemy vessel. Much to Archeo's concern is that they too could be hit by the wizzing cannon balls.

After a while, The Antelope caught up with The Skowe for just a few feet and saw it move for an all our broadside fire. The Antelope then prepares to engage.

"Go full Starboard! We'll need to bring our broadside to'em boys!"
Archeo shouted as he observed the crewmen move from the main deck into the lower decks, preparing the cannons to fire while the others are preparing the main deck cannons and also their Muskets and Pistols.

"Xabre! Get ready to let'em taste what we have!"
He shouted to Xabre while he was at the Aft deck. Archeo then walks off and towards the fore deck to observe the Nikasan Cruiser.

'Let's see how you stand up against us three...'
He thought as he looked at the enemy vessel.

"Cap,n! She's in our sites! Shall we give em a full broadside?"

Max looks over at the Antelope and notices there also ready to release there broadside.

Max grins

"Lets give em hell boys. FIRE!"

[Archeo]

Archeo looks at the direction of the Skowe and sees that it has fired off it's broadside towards the Imperial Cruiser, He then ran towards the aft deck and faced his crewmen.

"Alright men! brace yourselves! Fire the cannons!! Full broadside for them!" Archeo shouted as he pointed his index finger towards the direction of the Nakasan Cruiser. The Skowe's Cannon balls now have hit the Cruisers side and at the same time the Antelopes' cannon balls too are making their way towards the side of the Nikasan Cruiser.

'Let's see how you handle two full broadsides!!'

The cruiser takes several direct hits on both sides and silence falls over the ships for a moment.

"She should have returned fire by now. Did we cripple her?"

Suddenly a group of sailors pop up over the side of the Cruiser, muskets armed and fires a volley at the Skowe. Several crew are hit and Max's Hat is also shot off his head.

"Son of a ... " Max pulls his pistols and fires back, as do several of his own crew.

Max then runs to the Wheel and starts spinning it hard to port once more.

"I aint risking more of my crew, need to put some distance between us so those Muskets cant reach."

Max looks out and sees Gotunks' ship lumbering towards them.

"Come on will ya, one volley off you should sink the thing."

[matake murasame]

" Captain they're trying to board us!!! " Yells Matake

[Max_Sparta]

Max looks over the side and notices several rowing boats with armed sailers approching the side of the ship.

"Heh, im impressed they got this close but it wont do them any good."

Max grabs the wheel and banks the Skowe straight into them, crushing the tiny bouts under the Skowes belly.

"Serves the little bleeders right."

Max looks back over towards the cruiser.

"She listing! We've done it boys!"

[Archeo]

'Hmm... listing huh? that easy? seems a bit fishy... but oh well...' Archeo thought as he was looking at the Nikasan Cruiser listing through. He sailed through till the end of the bow and looked at Skowe, trying to search for Max...

'Come on Max, what do we do now? this'll make Nikasa a bit suspicious...'

[Max_Sparta]

"Cap'n, we may have a problem here." announces one of the senior crewmen.

"We took a hit on the port side just above the waterline. We're slowly taking on water."

"Dammit." mutter Max. He stands and ponders his options for a moment.

"How long do we have?" He finally asks.

"If we keep rotating the crew while bailing the water out we should be good for about a day. thats assuming the waters stay calm and we dont have any more trouble with enemy ships. Any longer then that and the crew will be too tired to keep up and she'll begin to list."

Max looks up as the Nikasan Cruiser finally loses the battle to stay afloat and falls onto its side.

"I'll be dammed if thats gonna happen to my ship. Signal the Antelope that we will be coming alongside. I want to ask if we can borrow a few crewmen. That should buy us some time. Then we need to decide on which port to dock at to arrange repairs."

[matake murasame]

" Captain Diego's hit " Kneeling next to Diego

[Archeo]

'Hmm... what is that about? a signal sent by the Skowe for... better get closer to know it atleast...' Archeo thought as he directed the other sailors to deploy all sails and head straight to the Skowes' side...

Getting a bit nearer on the Skowe, Archeo ran to the Antelopes' port side and shouts, "Max? you there? what's the matter?"

[Xabre]

Another ruthless sailor was kicked overboard by the other ruthless sailor with a musket in his grasp.

They keep coming don't they.

The musket clicked as Xabre raised it to eye level, it's barrel scanning the decks of the Nikasan Cruiser.

Nope, nope.. Surely not.. Scumbag.. Filthy.. Nerf-herder.. There!

His scope landed and locked onto a snarling fat geezer that pointed and shouted at surrounding sailors, not to mention waving his sword around in the air like a lunatic.

He must be the captain, or of near equivalent rank...

Xabre crouched and set the barrel of the musket on the ship's barricades which rocked around from side to side. A cannonball whizzed past his left ear and struck part of the mast behind him. He turned around and his jaw dropped. The mast had been struck, with the cannon ball intact in the wood.

What kind of wood is this? Steel wood?

Xabre quickly returned to his sniper's position and aimed at the captain.

I've never been good at this stuff. Hmm.. Wind speed slightly too fast.. Aim, locked. Distance, locked. Trajectory, calculated. Now.. just need to wind to shift. Hmm...

The crouching sailer took his time to wait for perfect conditions before he released the trigger. He well knew that if he missed, chaos and fury would erupt between the two guilds.

The wind is dying down.. slowly now.. slowly.. Almost.. There!

A click and a bang was heard from the musket and a bullet launched itself out of the barrel and tossed itself toward the captain of the Nikasan Cruiser.
