SPOILERS AHEAD! GO NO FURTHER IF YOU HAVEN'T READ OR FINISHED DEATHLY HALLOWS!

Anyways, here's the discussion thread for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I'll go first.

I LOVED IT! J.K. said that this is her favorite book so far, and I agree with her! The story is more exciting when it's out of Hogwarts, and I especially loved the twists and the drama. I cried a lot when Hedwig, Dobby, and Fred died. I was literally bawling!

As for my favorite parts of the story, I loved the following parts:
1. When Harry and Hermione visited Lily and James' graves
2. The Battle at Hogwarts
3. Snape's memory (I KNEW IT! SNAPE'S IN LOVE WITH LILY!)
4. When Harry talked to Dumbledore in his dream(?)
5. The epilogue.

Anyways, tell me what you like or what you hate.

I though the whole deathly hallows part was kinda pointless in my opinion. I think I missed a few things too... Didn't she say she was going to elaborate on Duddly and Petunia? I read it in 3.2 hours though so i might have missed it....

If you didn't like the epilogue, check out this article. (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19959323/) J.K. has elaborated more on what happened to Harry and the gang.

1.) Victoire is Bill and Fleur's daughter.
2.) Harry and Ron are working in the Auror Department in the Ministry of Magic. Harry's the department head.
3.) Hermione is working in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement.
4.) Luna is traveling the world looking for various mad creatures.
5.) It was possible that Neville and Luna ended up together.
6.) McGonagall's the headmistress of Hogwarts.

J.K. said there will be more details in an HP Encyclopedia that she's working on.

Deathly hallows is a very serious one, compare to the other installments, I kinda miss reading chapters when they're having fun. The epilogue was nice, i was glad to hear that they are doing fine, but it was too goody goody for me.. 19yrs later? I wanna read what happened before that, hope miss Rowling would write another book about harry and the others..

Okay, I love Harry Potter. When I was reading the book I was taking everything in... and when I finished it... I felt so alone. Harry Potter is over... You know? Some people have told me its weird.. but I throw myself into reading and it becomes real. Their stories become real to me and I want to know whats happening, as if it was my best friend. I'm not crazy by any means, I know the difference between real life and whatever else... I mean theres gotta be some body that feels the pull in that statement... Harry Potter is Over.

I had many favorite moments in the book... These are in no means the correct order of my favorites... More like as they come to me. I have to say that Snape's memories were incredible to me. I think we all kinda saw it coming... but to see everything and know it all in your minds eye was just something else... The scene where they discuss Harry's Fate was the most important one for me... One because we knew he cared and also because It seemed to confirm to Harry every idea of Dumbledore that he had in his head.
The final Fight! The entire thing was sweet! Mrs. Weasley's fight with Bellatrix Lestrange was down right awesome. Mostly, the fight with Harry and Voldemort... I loved it. Everything he said and all the deductions were cool.
I got a little happy feeling when Harry saw Luna's room.. While I was a little freaked out at first, it seemed just the thing that Luna would do. Luna, as weird as she is, was a great addition to the Harry Potter books. She is completely out there and adds all the weirdly comical stuff and an innocence that makes her simply adorable. Anyway, I just thought that addition to her room was cool.
There were several more things that I loved but for the sake of time I'll move on....
I'm with you on the epilogue auricachan. I was excited because I knew it was back there... The first thing I noticed was the 19 years and I knew it was just gonna be... not Tacky but... not very tasteful either. Not to me anyway. I agree with her doing it kinda like she did.. I just wished it would have been a little different. Put in a different place or something... but really and truly, it could have come at no other point. He was sending his last child to Hogwarts. The one who is probably most like him.. You could just feel it... he had the same worries and Harry knew just what to say. It really was perfect, that moment. I mean, looking back on it now, its really not that bad I just know that I'm not happy with where it left us. I remember reading that someone was upset about the names of his children. Really there could have been no other choice with that either. That kind of tribute and respect is just what Harry would have shown them. I also love the moment with Albus Severus Potter before he gets on the train. I think the thing that really got me was just how cheesy it kinda was with all the kids. lol I would much prefer a new series of Harry Potter books though... I can't wait till that Encyclopedia though. I promise I'll be pre-ordering that as soon as they announce it. I heard some where that all the profits off of that would go to charity... I dunno if thats true though.

I agree with you, baby-buu-chan. Harry Potter has been a part of my life for ten years and to read the end of it is just so sad. It was as if I’ve made friends and enemies in Harry Potter, so when I finished Deathly Hallows, I felt as if I’ve lost someone important in my life, and my life wouldn’t ever be the same again.

Snape’s memory was my favorite, too. I KNEW HE WAS IN LOVE WITH LILY! I was devastated when Harry learned that he must die to defeat Voldemort. (Luckily, he didn’t die.) I cried the most when he turned the Resurrection Stone, and then his parents, Sirius, and Remus appeared. It was such a dramatic moment. I’d love to see how it turns out in the seventh movie. (THEY BETTER MAKE IT GOOD!)

And Mrs. Weasley killing Bellatrix was such a shocker. For a moment, I thought it was Neville who’s going to kill Bellatrix. I like the epilogue, but I wished JK made it a bit longer, as in more detailed (thank God there’s an encyclopedia coming out) about what happened to the rest of the characters other than Harry and the gang. But my favorite part was when Harry talked to Albus Severus. I mean – “Awww….!”

I’m excited for the HP Encyclopedia. I hope J.K. really puts all the info that HP fans want. But still, reading something that is literally not part of the Harry Potter series is sad.
