Johnstobbart, please try not to post 2-3 word answers as this is considered spam. You too, Nefarious. :o
I personally use Kaspersky. its done a great job of clearing out all the crappy files on my hdd. I used to have AVG but it conflicted with something and never worked properly. ><

I dont actually use an Antivirus i scan my computer myself normally and find little things here and there. But other then that i use adaware personal version. Its one of the best ive ever used really. Norton just causes me problems and since i play alot of games lol kicks me out of them so lol.

On my old computer, kapersky used to lag it like crazy so I use AVG. I have spybot search and destroy also.

adaware is only anti-spyware, its not the same as an antivirus.
I use adaware aswell for anti-spyware next to using NAV for antivirus.

I use System Suite, used to use Zone alarm, but my current has the anti-virus/firewall/defrag capabilities all in one

Yeah
Norton truly is a bad stuff. I am using Nod actually.
Because I have some hack programs in my pc and it is the only stuff that blocks the other people to see me and hack.
Use Nod.
I am hacked today and it works:rolleyes:
UniSol_Jeroen
08-19-2007, 08:19 PM
i mainly use
firewall: Zone Alarm Pro
anti-virus: Norton Anti-Virus 2002 (yes 2002, it's the one without the useless added stuff they put in it nowadays, and virus definitions work on it)
anti-spyware: Ad-Aware Personal
defrag: O&O Defrag (very good program)
registrycleaner-registrydefrag-diskcleaner: TuneUp Utilities 2006
and to check out your entire harddrive concerning file and folder size, if you'd be interested to try it out: Treesize Professional

Nahhh.. What I was shock with what she said is the hack programs. Can you share one for me? :D
Kaspersky, which my friend told me, was the best and the #1 Antivirus. I don't know if it is true and if it is really effective.

Oh jeez no offense but I have some bad memories of Norton, not to mention it's a resource hog but also has out of date virus definitions and often fails to fix any of your problems. The two I like best are NOD32 and the one I'm currently using BitDefender Internet Security 2008.
AVG is decent but compared to non-free programs it isn't a good choice (again, virus definitions and effectiveness).

norton overuses system resources and takes up a lot of RAM...
NOD32 and Kasperky or however you spell it seem to be the best.
But since I'm poor after buying so many DVDs, I have to use Avast Now.. works perfectly and caught all the viruses that Norton didn't when I had both installed on this computer.

I use Windows Live Onecare because it works behind the scenes and i can still listen to my music. It also detects stuff very quickly so that i can destroy it. I recommend this program for people who are not computer-savvy.

I am using Trend Micro AntiVirus 2007.
I have been through several AntiVirus programs and have found this one to be the best so far.
I personally have to say that Norton and McAfee have been nothing but a pain for me in the past. :o

hmm...well my antivirus is free (if you catch my drift :D) because it is a fully featured trial version of nod32 that has a very very long trial period (16715268 days left lol). If anyone is after a copy then just send me a message. I like nod32 because it hardly eats any resources and picks up loads of viruses and malware that others dont detect.

I've actually made my own especially when I attracted with Linux along time ago.
I've already use many AV too, but for me McAffee and Norton was the hard, I meant they really eat our RAM... no offense
And I've F.U.C.K (it's not spam it's the help systems, but it's better when OL)

I don't use any AV. I have alot of utilities for when i do programming work that just get shutdown and deleted automaticly by every live scan AV. So what i do is run a daily free online scan on Mcafee's site.

It's true...Norton SUCKS. Gotta go with AVG and Avast! Works so awesome, doesn't slow my computer down, and the way how it's programmed is just autistic.

McAfee Internet Suite, best ont the market and it is free (for Comcast Internet subscribers). I couple that with the free Yahoo Norton Spyware Security (however McAfee catches most of the spyware and possible trojan downloads).

i'm currently using ESET NOD32 Antivirus v3.0.621.0, i found it to be simple yet effective (removed most viruses at work). I used to have mcafee enterprise v8.x but lately it wouldn't detect viruses in our PCs even after running a thorough scan of folders and files.

The Antivirus program I am currently using is from Norton. Personally, I like this version much better than McAfee (my previous one). Due to the fact, the latter caused my computer to freeze and I ended up uninstalling it, in order to rectify this problem. So far, there have not been any major issues with the Norton product.
