Zanpaktou genders?

I was Wondering, what are all the known Zanpaktou's genders? Also how does it influence the design or characteristics of the Zanpaktou?

I know Ichigo's is Male, and seems confident and smooth, which seems to be mirrored in its design.

I also know Urahara's is Female, and seems intuitive and defensive.

are there any other known gender's I am forgetting?

No I think theres only Male and Female from what we have seen. As for Uraharas zan is concerned Benihime will only wake up if she finds a worthy opponent I believe, which means shes obviously powerful or meant to fight thus making Urahara dangerous.

One of the soul reapers (forgot his name) has a Michael Jackson release so its gender is undecided

On a more serious note though some like call upon a mythical dragon so i am not sure if the word gender applies to it

for example has a creature with a baby head and a worm body..go figure

Since there are only two genders in this world, there are only two genders of Zanpakuto, male or female. Just because the zanpakuto is a dragon or a worm baby, doesn't mean they have a different gender, they are either male or female like all creatures in this world.

Since it is said that female zanpakuto are rare, we can assume that most zanpakuto are male unless stated otherwise.

Its not like they are under the obligation to be one or the other...some are mythical beings ya know

So what if they're mythical beings? They will still have a gender, the same way other animals have genders. Echidna is a mythical being from Greek Mythology and she has a gender i.e female.

As for hermaphrodites, that's about having both male and female reproductive organs but you can still be bodily male or female, so it isn't a real gender. Plus I don't see the point in having a hermaphrodite zanpakuto.

The only other possibility would be genderless but that would apply to genderless objects such as a chair or something like that, not creatures.

Indeed..some Mythical creatures are gender oriented and some...are solo mio..if you know what i mean

Yes...but you can also be both so it is a real gender..just ask mother nature + i don't see the point having a male or female Zanpakuto..unless...you know something i don't

They can be spiritual beings that have no use for mating in the first place and are as such..genderless

No, because being a hermaphrodite is about having both female and male reproductive organs and it is a misconception to say that a hermaphrodite i both genders when in reality they only have both reproductive organs but can still be bodily female or male.

Well, since female zanpakuto are rare and Urahara has one, there is probably something significant about that and may be revealed in the future. Otherwise, it's merely an aesthetic choice by TK and hints at the variety zanpakuto spirits can come in i.e they can be male or female, humanoid or an ice dragon etc.

Having no need for reproducing does not make it genderless. It just means it can't reproduce. Giving them a gender isn't about giving them the potential to reproduce but giving them character.
