Thirteenth Division Mission Guidelines

Since there's been so much discussion on this subject, we've been doing a lot of work behind the scenes working out the best way to run missions within the Thirteenth Division, particularly at recruit level. Taichou has therefore approved this thread to lay out the new system more clearly.

Thirteenth Division will now have a three choice system for members that should, hopefully, suit everyone. Thirteenth is a Division with a good, solid RPing reputation and history, so we wanted to build on that and give people the chance to use the skills we know they have in more varied ways than just the occasional spar.

The options are:

• Roleplaying mission
• Boot camp/traditional dojo training
• Opt out.

Basically, nobody is forced to take part in anything they really don't want to do.

All training missions will be 1-1 or occasionally 1-2 if an additional character is needed.

All training missions are for members of the Thirteenth Division only.

The missions are designed first and foremost so that members can have fun and get to know each other a little more by working together. It's also an opportunity for anyone who wants RP help or practice outside of a spar situation to participate in something a little less life and death!

The mission layout is as follows.

Recruit Level

Options:

• Roleplaying mission (recruit level - led by a ranked officer from Captain to Tenth Seat)
• Boot Camp (trained by a ranked officer from Captain to Tenth Seat)
• None

Recruit mission options are as follows:

~Zanjutsu mission (specific training in sword use)
~Kidou mission (specific training in kidou use)
~Hakuda mission (specific training in hakuda use)
~General mission (specific training in all above skills but less focused)
~Refresher mission (for recruits who have been members of other divisions/this division in the past and who have already gone through boot camp in the past but still want to do recruit training)

Please note:
Shunpo is not to be used widely at recruit level and the zanpakutou/kidou level rules all still apply.

Recruits may not do both Boot Camp and a training mission.

Opportunities to do more than one training mission are entirely at the Captain's discretion.

Missions for seated officers:

The same options apply for missions for seated officers, divided into rank categories to determine the difficulty of the mission. All upper ranking missions are optional however if you want to spar with Shikai, some form of training is strongly advised.

The categories are:
16th to 20th Seat
11th to 15th Seat
6th to 10th Seat
Captain to 5th Seat.

It will be possible to undertake the following kinds of mission:

For ranked officers 20th seat and up:
-Kidou, Zanjutsu, Hakuda, General (incorporating shunpo)

For ranked officers 15th seat and up:
-Kidou, Zanjutsu, Hakuda, General (incorporating shunpo)
-Shikai missions (if wanted instead of dojo training)

For officers ranked 5th seat and up, Bankai training will be done in dojo (there are no missions for Bankai training).

As with the current training rules in Thirteenth Division, all training will be led by an officer ranked tenth seat and up, unless special permission is granted by the Captain.

Recruit missions will be supervised by two assigned officers - to volunteer for recruit monitoring, please contact Star-taichou directly so she can add you to the list. Officers of rank 11 to 20 are able to volunteer to help supervise recruits alongside a higher ranking officer.

Other, more general and wider ranging missions for larger groups may occur as and when needed.
