Said to be the nest of the phoenix firebird God 'Suzaku', this volcanic training ground is the hottest place in all of Thirteenth Division and is not for the faint hearted. Though the volcano often sleeps, a slick trickle of lava still flows lazily from the summit, ready to engulf unsuspecting souls who trespass into its path, and thick, sulphurous smoke belches from the crater, making the air heavy with thick gas. Ash coats the ground around you, coloured red as blood by the harsh elements so where it isn't scalding hot, it's dusty, dry and wholly inhospitable.

Only the bravest or most foolish of zanpakutou trainers choose to school their swords here, putting faith in the legend that the Firebird is watching over them.

Notes for Division members:
Please reserve your spot in the Suzaku ground before posting here.

God modding will summon Suzaku and he will probably eat you. Being eaten by a firebird is not nice. So don't do it and everyone will be happy. xD.

Members from outside the division:
You are welcome here for training or for sparring but these spars also have to be arranged via the sign-in sheet and can only take place with a member of Thirteenth Division involved. (This remains at the Captain's discretion).

RYC is optional but should be agreed between sparring partners before beginning. RYC is not compulsory in Thirteenth Division.

And a message from our cleaning staff:
Please try not to die too messily whilst sparring in the dojo.

All victorious sparring partners or trainers are responsible for scraping up the remains of their victims/opponents/students and transporting them to a safe place outside the volcano zone so that the next unsuspecting set of souls can begin their training.

~Amidst a cloud of smoke and dust, Sandra can be seen approaching slowly from the distance. She looks calm and collected and her demeanor, adamant. The surroundings are harsh and her feet seem to sink in the ash-filled terrain, she can already feel the scalding air creeping up her skin, but she continues her steady pace toward the center of the sulfurous battlefield. Once there and realizing her opponent is yet to arrive, she begins stretching her body while focusing her mind, getting it ready for the upcoming clash~

[Himuura]

~*To the fiery grounds Himuura appeared, Shunpo utilized for transportation to the 13th's domain. Beads of sweat ran down his face just moments after entry, leaving him to wipe it off as he glanced at his opponent. "Phew, of all the places, I keep picking either the briskiest frozen landscapes and now I get the complete opposite. I've gotta be more cautious when picking," said Himuura.

"But anyways, we've a fight to start, eh?"

  Not really frail, I can stand my ground against other people's hits to some extent. My strikes would surely hurt frail people. My might belong to the scrawny class of people.
• Power (Reiatsu amount): 35
  I belong to the high tier of 12th seat class fighters in terms of Reiatsu. I would rival against a low tier 11th seat in terms of Reiatsu.
• Kidou / Reiatsu Control: 52
  • In addition to Soul Burial, I potentially can fire up to Bakudo/Hadou #52. The spells from 41 to 52 require, in order to hit, full focus on my behalf when I fire them. As for my reiatsu control,
  • If I add all the spells I fire before passing out (if fired at full power), it gives 49.
  • I can hide my reiatsu completely.
  • I can channel quite an amount of reiatsu at parts of my body in a not-so-slow and not-so-bad manner.
• Hakuda (Hand to Hand): 0
  Brawler. Basic punches/kicks which could leave many openings.
• Zanjutsu (Swordsmanship): 0
  Basic flailing of my blade, no more. My movements are not accurate.
• Mobility (Shunpo and Reflexes): 30
  I am building a fair speed. It's still low, but it's fairly higher than many. Reaction times are fair as well. I can use Shunpo just fine. Although, the distance is quite low.

  • I have achieved Shikai and have a perfect control over the 1st ability.
  • I have a perfect control over the 2nd Shikai ability.
  • I have a perfect control over the 3rd Shikai ability.

~As she finishes stretching, she notices Himu arriving to the grounds. She smiles and stands up straight, quickly moving forward to meet him. Once face to face with her long time pal, and now to be opponent, she greets him with a pat in the back and a grin~

Of course we do. And it was long overdue.

I can't believe we've never fought before. That's terrible.

~She shakes her head jokingly and turns around to get into position for the fight. She walks across the grounds, finally stopping about 15 feet from Himu, then turns around to face him. She nods slightly to let him know that she's ready and begins draws her sword slowly. She takes a look at the surroundings, while addressing Himu~

Wow, this place is majestic... really.
Vast, hot and deadly... but majestic nonetheless.

~She looks back at Himu and lifts her sword, then gives him a friendly wink~

"Yeah, all this plotting to take over this place, and we've yet to test each other's combat skills..." He said, and began to draw out his sword, provided that she'd made her way to a suitable distance. Himuura stretched his arms out and cracked his neck while surveying the area intently.

Shunpo brought him closer; only an afterimage of his presence left where he stood before [hehe, I exaggerate xP]. In the place of a normal slash, Himuura aimed to impale his opponent with his katana, feet just touching the ground as he did so.*~

~Sandra chuckled at his comment, as they would often joke about taking over the world, yet it was true they had never engaged in combat with each other~

Hehe... Indeed... But that's about to change now.

~As Himu flashed towards her, Sandra lost sight of him for a moment, but quickly caught his reiatsu a few feet from her. His sword was being thrust toward her torso, but instead of blocking it, she spun her body to the right to move around him, her back almost brushing up against his right side. As she slid behind him, she finished her rotation with an horizontal slash at his upper back, hoping to be the first to draw blood. Following this move, she quickly threw a front kick with her left leg at his upper body, hoping to knock him over~

I didn't say which part of the upper body I aimed my kick at cause I don't know what your position is going to be after my first attack. So it's up to you.

[Himuura]

~*Himuura quickly noticed what was going on; Sandra's skillful evasion of his introductory strike was apparent, and with a spin she would draw his backside. Once there, Himuura felt a whisping through the air as she aimed to slash at his back. However, in retaliation to such a move, Himuura clasped his hands and curled his fingers together, rushing his elbow up and back to knock her wrist. This would, as far as Himuura was concerned, halt the movement of the blade and thus keep his opponent from causing harm.

Next would be a stepping spin of his own, though to the opposite side, in an attempt to jar his opponent's neck with an attempted elbow-thrust.*~

~Sandra arm was pushed backwards by Himu's elbow, however, her feet remained steady where she stood. She threw the kick at his upper body, but it hit the air, as Himu stepped aside with a spinning move of his own. She watched him sliding by her and she quickly turned her body slightly to the left while pulling her left forearm up (I'm supposing you are on my left side). She was certain he would go for her face or neck since they had been left opened, and she was right. His elbow shoved her forearm once again but even so, she succeeded in protecting her neck. She took advantage of the range and quickly reacted, swinging her sword in a horizontal motion at his left shoulder, attempting to slash it open~

[Himuura]

[OOC: hugely sorry about the late post, was sick D:]

~*Himuura's elbow blocked by her forearm somewhat, he took a moment to retract, when he noticed the blade of hers swinging at his shoulder. He leaped back, instinctually, to a mere 3 or so meters away, with blood lining the laceration he received on his arm.

"Mmm..." He grinned and launched at Sandra once more, though while heading for her, a yellow bit of reiatsu gathered around his enclosed hand. He flicked his arm up and sent this yellow whip at her with the intent to wrap around her person while he made a horizontal slash at her midsection. "Bakudou Number 4, Hainawa."
