It's a bright day.

As you stand there, gazing out across the whole of Seireitei, your heart clenches ever so slightly in your chest. For six years you have been surrounded by the stone walls of the Academy, robed in the uniform of a student. You've struggled through hard classes, battled your way through exams, and faced your own share of student scrapes. But all of that is nothing compared to what lies ahead.

You run your fingers over the black shihakushou that you are wearing for the first time, and a faint chill of excitement runs through your body. Your fingers stray to the asauchi at your waist, touching the hilt as you imagine what one day it might be like to hold a zanpakutou of your own and take down Hollows like all of those who have gone before you.

You've heard the stories of the Gotei, but you never really thought that you would one day be a part of it.

Yet here you are, wearing the black and white of a shinigami, and walking the uneven chip-stone path towards the Thirteenth Division barracks.

Within this place could lie your future - future comrades, future adventures, and one day, perhaps, the creation of a legend of your own. Beyond those gates, over which hangs the creaking insignia of the black cross and three horizantal lines is a whole new world that from this point on may be your world.

You push open the gate.

There's a gentle breeze, and the sunlight glitters off the water that surrounds a good portion of the barracks. From your vantage point, you think you can see the gleam of gold and white as a brilliant koi leaps and plunges back beneath the surface, sending spray out across the grass that lines the banks. In the distance, a long wooden walkway leads to the Captain's quarters, and as you gaze around you, you can hear the clamour of friendly, joking voices as the members of the division go about their normal day.

You hesitate for the briefest of moments, wondering whether the next time someone pushes that gate, you might be a part of the welcoming throng.

And whether this is the place that you'll come to belong.

If so, then you may be eligible for Division membership!

This is the first stop on the path to becoming a full blown member of the Thirteenth Division.

The Thirteenth prides itself on its randomness, it's love of RP and its friendliness to all and sundry.
