It depends on how you define "action". We didn't see much of Shinji fighting, but he was pivotal in the plot and in forging the link with Ichigo as well as the betrayal of Aizen, so I'd argue we'd seen more 'action' from Shinji than the others to date. That said, there's clearly a lot more to see, which makes him still pretty interesting as character IMO even though (ir perhaps because) he's had all that character exposure

Kensei is my favorite. Yeah, his fighting style is mainstream, DBZ-ish, but that's part of the reason why he's my favorite. I'm intrigued by his shikia ability, since the time he blew Ichigo's arm off. It's like everything he hits explodes. He's seems to be the most serious of the 8 and the only one to have revealed his bankai.

I guess it depends whether Kubo is employing his tactic of fielding the weaker ranked characters first and saving the others for later. Im not sure that can apply to the Vaizard, though. They're a bit more complex.

I respect the fact you admitted he was DBZ combattish. I can understand people loving him if that's the kind of characterisation you go in for. It's not my personal preference, but it's nice to just understand what it is that makes him so favoured.

I feel the same about Rose too. I want to see more of his shikia abilities and a bankai. How he made Stark's wolves explode with sound was cool. The order or rank of that ability(Kishara Sonata #11) suggested his shikia has a dozen or more abilities.

I admit I love Rose to death and have done since the Pendulum arc, and I totally agree here. The sound waves thing and the enchanted music (I would love to know whether the musical sounds the anime adds in to his release was Kubo's intent) leave scope fora lot more. It also still reminds me of Amiboshi from Fushigi Yuugi whose flute music was capable of putting someone to sleep or slaughtering them by bursting blood vessels in the brain. Rose's attack against the Hollow was pretty much in this line, so it will be interesting how Kubo decides to develop him from now. I think he has a pretty ruthless streak.

As for the girls, Shunsui said Lisa was stronger than Hiyori in the Pendulum.

Did he? I don;t remember that. Will have to re-check my manga when I get home...though I agree, I think she is the strongest. Largely because I just don't like Mashiro, which is an unforgivable reason, but unfortunately the true one.

I think that its time folk took Kidou seriously. Hacchi wiped out Barragan using nothing but kidou and his own ingenuity. If that's not enough for people to consider it lethal, I have no idea what is. Additionally, there wouldn't be a kidou corps if kidou wasn't pretty hardcore. Back to that ideology again, I think, of assuming the stuff that gets seen most in the manga is where the power is, but not necessarily the case...

As for the espada vs. Vizard matchup. I'm more or less incline to say that the top 4 Vizards(not including Ichigo)

lol It wouldn't be in my favor if he was the weakest of the Vizards. I think it's Kubo putting more emphasis on Kensei's serious personality and that it overlaps in his approach to battle. He's already in shikia for every fight he's been in since he was introduced. He was the one who came inside the barrier to fight Hollowfied Ichigo saying he's going to kill him. No kidding by blowing the guy's arm off.

It was after the captains' meeting when he told Urahara that Hiyori is strong, but not as strong as Lisa. He then said to have faith in her. More than anything, that will make him even more concern. lol

Probably you're right. Though I'm afraid the 'serious personality' kinda falls flat with me somehow. I can't put my finger on it, it just does...

Ooh. Now I'm with you. I hadn't considered that really as anything other than one of his throwaway comments, because of the way he says it...but I suppose it might be a serious one. I guess we don't know for sure. I'd like to think Lisa was stronger, and she certainly seemed more resolute vs Halibel, because Hiyori was too busy flapping at chibi-taichou, and Hiyori does seem to get herself kicked about quite a lot...but I guess we'll see. I would honestly guess Hiyori was the weakest vaizard.

Well, Hachi would be more than enough to fight against Baraggan due to his quick thinking, and Baraggans overconfidence, Shinji would screw up Yammy for the entire fight, so he would be off the list too.

Harribel would most likely get tag teamed by Liza and Hiyori and have an equal match for a while, until one of the other visords come in and fight.

While Yammy is confused, Shinji and Rose can fight against Starrk and take him out with a reverse combo, and Kensei can take on Grimmjow and duke it out.

Love meanwhile can go up against Nnoitra and stall for time, while Hachi distracts Ulquiorra.

Mashiro comes in and save the day against Harribel and the three then help out Kensei, and move onto Nnoitra.

After Shinji and Rose finally take out Starrk, they go and finish off Yammy with the rest of the group and then go and rescue an injured Hachi who can't go on any longer in battle. Ulquiorra fights and gets curbstomped by all of them minus Hachi and they all live happily ever after.

At least, that's how I see it.

I agree. I think there's much more to Rose than a lot of people realise, especially considering how he shredded the Gillian without even releasing his sword.

Shinji and Rose? Hrm. Interesting tag team. Is that because of the sensory nature of their swords? Rose's music seems to have explosive and enchanting qualities, and Shinji turns everything upside-down and back to front...I can see Stark going, "enough already" and disappearing off somewhere for a nap...

I never have thought Rose and Love make a particularly successful fight team. Rose and Lisa, perhaps, but not Rose and Love. Never thought about Rose and Shinji, though...
